Math and College Test Prep Tutoring from Kennon McCaa

Kennon McCaa, the son of two teachers, has always loved math and helping others learn math. One year, as an elementary student he finished his workbook for the entire year during the first weekend of the school year! He's loved doing math ever since.

After enrolling in business school at Santa Clara University near Silicon Valley, Kennon quickly realized he enjoyed helping others study just as much as doing his own school work. After a few years of California sun, he returned home to his frozen homeland of Minnesota and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics Education from the University of Minnesota. Later, he earned a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Development from St. Mary's University graduating with a 4.0 GPA.

Kennon spent the final two years at the University of Minnesota as the head math tutor for the nationally ranked Golden Gophers' hockey team as well as working as a private tutor. He jumped right into his teaching career at N. St. Paul High School in Minnesota. After enjoying five years with the wonderful students at N. St. Paul, Kennon and his wife Beth moved to Sarasota/Bradenton. Upon arriving in Florida, Kennon began his career as a computer programmer and has worked for the same growing company since 1999.

In 2010, Kennon combined his three passions, math, teaching and software development to create five star Apple App Store series Algebra Explained. He learned iOS programming and then wrote, directed, filmed, produced and programmed the six chapter series. Anyone needing help in algebra should try using the app first. Algebra Explained is colorful, fun and covers a large portion of the fundamentals of algebra in the convenience of your favorite Apple device.

Kennon's son Carter was featured in the Algebra Explained videos in several cameo appearances and won the Manatee County School's Math Superstars competition in 2016. Carter scored in the 98th percentile on the SSAT in 5th grade.
